Denmark’s Hub for Serial Innovation

For over three decades, our Danish facility has sat at the intersection of traditional craftsmanship and digital disruption. What began as a pioneering lab for rapid prototyping has evolved into a high-capacity serial production hub, trusted by Denmark’s most iconic brands to deliver mission-critical components at scale.

By combining thirty years of technical intuition with Europe’s most advanced additive infrastructure, we provide more than just parts; we provide the manufacturing continuity required to move from a single concept to thousands of high-performance units.

Our Danish Heritage

The Prototal Denmark story began in May 1995, when siblings Jesper and Susanne Damvig founded Damvig Develop in Taastrup. As the first commercial enterprise in Denmark to offer 3D printing as a service, the company established a legacy of innovation that continues to drive us today.

From its inception in 1995, Damvig Develop drove the evolution of Rapid Prototyping in Denmark. By introducing iconic machines like the Stratasys FDM 1600 and EOS Stereos MAX 600, we provided the foundation for the high-tech 3D printing services we offer today.

In 2002, we expanded our capabilities by introducing Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) via the EOSINT P 380. This marked a turning point as major industrial players began to recognize 3D printing not just for models, but as a reliable, high-quality manufacturing technology ready for serial production.

In 2013, Damvig Develop’s consistent performance and expansion were officially recognized when the company was named a Børsen Gazelle. Being honored as one of Denmark’s fastest-growing companies served as a testament to our position as a market leader in the 3D printing industry.

In 2019, following a major investment from Nalka, Prototal Group launched an ambitious strategy to become a European leader in additive manufacturing. A key milestone in this expansion was the acquisition of Damvig, bringing Denmark’s most experienced 3D printing team into the Group to spearhead growth across the region.

To align with our growing capabilities, our brand has evolved alongside our technology. After refining our name to Damvig in 2017, the subsequent integration into the Prototal Group sparked a strategic rebrand. Today, as Prototal Denmark, we combine the deep-rooted heritage of the Damvig era with the expansive resources of a European leader.

Do you have questions that needs answering? Here you can find the most common questions and answers for our Danish Facility.

Precision is our baseline, but accountability is our promise. Our Danish facility operates under strict ISO 9001 quality management systems and ISO 14001 environmental policies to ensure total process stability.

For our serial production partners who require the highest level of documentation and risk mitigation, we offer PPAP (Production Part Approval Process). This ensures that every component is manufactured to your exact specifications through a validated and repeatable process.

Furthermore, as a dedicated partner in Operation Clean Sweep, we have implemented rigorous technical safeguards to ensure zero plastic pellet, flake, or powder loss during our production cycles. For our partners, this means every part is manufactured within a framework of industrial integrity that protects both the quality of the component and the purity of the Danish ecosystem.

Through our Danish facility, you have full access to our global manufacturing ecosystem. we can provide every material and technology listed in our Industrial 3D Printing section, backed by our network of 130+ systems across Europe.

However, for projects requiring maximum agility and our 1-2-day lead time, we maintain a specialized local 3D Printing fleet in Denmark:

SLS (Selective Laser Sintering): The industrial standard for robust, functional parts and complex geometries without the need for support structures.

  • PA 2200
  • PA 3200 GF
  • PA 2210 FR

SAF (Selective Absorption Fusion): Our solution for high-volume serial production, offering exceptional part consistency and cost-efficiency for large batches.

  • Polypropylene

SLA (Stereolithography): For projects requiring extreme surface smoothness, fine detail, and high dimensional accuracy.

  • Accura ClearVue
  • Accura 25
  • Accura Extreme

FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling): Ideal for durable jigs, fixtures, and functional prototypes using high-performance engineering thermoplastics.

  • Ultem 9085
  • Ultem 1010
