Den kanadensiskbyggda Ford GT levereras med tr\u00f6skelpaneler tillverkade av Alcantara-t\u00e4ckt plast. Med mer \u00e4n 1.000 personer som stiger in och ut ur bilen varje \u00e5r skulle fotavtryck snabbt uppst\u00e5 p\u00e5 d\u00f6rrtr\u00f6sklarna och bilens interi\u00f6r skulle snart visa tecken p\u00e5 slitage.  <\/p>\n\n<p>Jason Watt unders\u00f6kte m\u00f6jligheten att k\u00f6pa extra paneler till Ford, men utan resultat. D\u00e5 fick han ett tips fr\u00e5n en kollega: &#8221;Jag tror att jag k\u00e4nner n\u00e5gon som kan 3D-printa panelerna.&#8221; <\/p>\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>&#8221;Min f\u00f6rsta reaktion var ett avf\u00e4rdande skratt. S\u00e5 kan man ju inte g\u00f6ra! Plastplattorna har en mycket specifik form och en unik ribbstruktur. Jag ans\u00e5g att det var om\u00f6jligt att 3D-printa en l\u00f6sning med det utseende och den kvalitet som var n\u00f6dv\u00e4ndig.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>&#8221;Trots att jag visste en hel del om bilar hade jag inte sett 3D-printing som en l\u00f6sning. Men idag har 3D-printingtekniken kommit mycket l\u00e4ngre \u00e4n jag n\u00e5gonsin trodde var m\u00f6jligt. Det finns en enorm potential f\u00f6r att fler m\u00e4nniskor ska kunna dra nytta av 3D-printade l\u00f6sningar: med 3D-printing kan reservdelar och prylar produceras snabbt, billigt och i den kvalitet som kr\u00e4vs&#8221;, s\u00e4ger Jason Watt.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n<p>Han best\u00e4mde sig f\u00f6r att s\u00e4tta det p\u00e5 prov och skickade panelen till Prototal, en av norra Europas mest erfarna experter p\u00e5 3D-printing.
